Jay Farley: A versatile illustrator who has came into his own only after four years of studying art at the American Academy of Art and graduated in December 2007. It all started when Jay was in grade school and his peers would ask him to draw pictures of their favorite movie stars or pop singers. If you want to go further back to what inspired Jay to create art was his mother who told him the only way he could watch those Saturday morning cartoons was that he had to draw what he watched. There was always talent there but no real direction to take it. Therefore he has become very versatile with his illustration. Today he has worked on creating storyboards for companies such as IDOT (Illinios Department of Transportation) and Ohio Art, a print advertisement for XM Radio, a childrens book called The Christmas Train with his buddy Jason Seiler, a package design for Sparkle City and recently an advertisement pitch for the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) that has his illustration made into an animatic.
